What is equity?
 Equity is the difference between a property’s value and the amount you owe on it.
For example if your house is worth $500,000 and outstanding loan balance is $250,000, you have equity of $250,000
What is the maximum equity that I can use from my existing owner-occupied property as equity?
Bank will let you go up to a maximum borrowing of 80%of the value of the property.
For example if the house is worth $500,000 Bank will let you go maximum up to $400,000 as your borrowing. If your existing loan is $250,000 in this scenario. You will be left with another $150k which you can use as equity to purchase another property. (please note lending criteria and policies are subject to change from time to time)
